The “CASA T Lisboa” project was born in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, in the need to support LGBT emigrants in their daily difficulties, when they arrived in Portugal. The association was soon formed and since its foundation, it has helped many people in situations of financial and social deficit. The house is an authentic haven of shelter for everyone who lives there, providing an escape and a source of security to rebuild their lives, without the usual pressure of paying bills at the end of the month. Once recovered, they continue their lives, but remain forever linked to the house, helping the next users to find their way.

We spoke with Rio Almeida, one of its volunteers/director, who told us a little about the association, the difficulties in financially managing this project and the plans it has for the future, as well as the launch of a crowdfunding campaign that will advance this week, to help the association with its bills.
